Night Shall Eat These Girls and Boys
Band site:
Ypsilanti based indie-dance and electro-folk pop trio (William t. Skillets - Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard, Electronic Drums; Alexander Lopez - Bass, Guitar, Vocals; Austin Hermann - Keys, Vocals): the subtle sophistications of this warm and fuzzy music collective is at once celebratory and cerebral, and somehow, at times, also danceable. Already with a masterful sensibility for beautiful bob-and-weave dance beats jubilantly bouncing under burning guitars, a cool careening hit-the-floor vibe tempered with more somber, sweet solemnities of unique nocturnal cricket-orchestras with synth and drum machines under soft stream of conscious lyrics, poignant and whirled. Currently a trio, but at one time (or even now) their member list is upwards to 15 members. Their currently on tour, but our back in town on July 31st in Romeo, MI, and then at the Corktown Tavern on August 23rd.
Check out their cover of Supremes' "Where Did Our Love Go" at: myspace.com/thesegirlsandboys, and a current Deep Cutz favorite, "There Are Bigger Things."
I like it, I like it.
