British Sea Power helped churn the current of this decade's re-imaginging of post-punk - eventually becoming pegged for their dynamics (their sweeping, anthemic, guitar-heavy ballads on record and their torrential/conceptual live presentations).
But now, the Cambridge quartet celebrate a decade's worth of music with
Valhalla Dancehall (Rough Trade), out January 11th - a somewhat more minimalist affair, indulging the synthesizer and clouding things up with a more haunting atmospherics apt for cool-yet-contemplative night-drive jams.
