Stuff - Spindrift, 4 / 2 at LJ's Lounge - Jennifer O'Connor (4/22 Michigan Theatre) Ann Arbor, and Anni Rossi (4/26 Magic Bag), Ferndale

Tomorrow night at LJ's Lounge in Detroit - catch the spooktastic psyche collective, Spindrift - hallucinogenic desert trips as dressed up through penchants for world-music leanings and vampiric circus vibes - a freaky show at a unique venue, to be sure.

Jennifer O'Connor returns (on yet-another tour) bringing her stately indie/folk and staggering vocals -both in voice and in lyric - to Ann Arbor, at the Michigan Theatre 4/22. Her most recent album Here With Me is out on Matador records and you can hear a few songs at her myspace -

For those of you tuned in from other areas around the Great Lakes, here's a few dates:

22: Detroit @ Michigan Theatre
23: Milwaukee @ Pabst Theatre
24: Indianapolis @ Egyptian Room
25: Memphis @ Minglewood Hall

A newer face in the realm of female indie-pop troubador...Anni Rossi, brings her classicaly trained violin talents (along with her intriguing wispy/wavering vocals) to perform songs from her latest album Rockwell (which got an admirable 8.0 from uber-absolutists Pitchfork Media) at the Magic Bag in Ferndale on 4 / 26.

A personal favorite - the classic 60's folk-meets-rustic Appalachian-flavored house-party punk brought on by Austin, TX' The Strange Boys - have released a video "Whoa Is You and Me" from their latest (The Strange Boys)...and Girls Club out on In The Red.

and, how about a Strange Boys MP3, too? "Heard You Wanna Beat Me Up"

Unlike Anni Rossi and Jennifer O'Connor, The Strange Boys only fly-by Michigan, but here are some dates to those interested...

06.20.09 Sat Columbus, Ohio Bourbon St *

Here's a new video from The Black Lips: the Georgia-born once-slimy-hippie-trashers turned serious psyche-rock constructionists are still riding their latest release, 200 Million Thousand - and just finished up a tour of the midwest. Featured here is "I'll Be With You" (from said-latest album) - in MP3 form and
