New Grenada - record release show - 12 / 5 - PJ's Lager House

New Grenada, long time power trio of sugar/punk-shread/pop masterpieces, has transitioned lately - still maintained by John Nelson and Dave Melkonian - and is now releasing a new LP ("Energy Shortage") this FRIDAY at PJ'S LAGER HOUSE.

With bassist Nicole Allie leaving the band (and with Nelson writing what was described here as a, potentially, much more darker record for the NG repertoire), Nelson and Melkonian recorded through the summer, aided by Ryan Allen (Friendly Foes/Thunderbirds Are Now!), Christian Doble (Child Bite, Kiddo...and, another band with Nelson--Copper Thieves) and Andy Roy (Copper Thieves). Monday Busque from the Trembling, joins the live band.

The show is free - but if you drop $7 you get the record, which is highly recommended. Allan James & The Cold Wave along with Friendly Foes open - with the incomparable Art Fag DJs spinning all night.
